Weak demand and firm prices in arsenic metal export market

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Dec 13 - Arsenic metal 99%min export market sees weak demand as most of overseas purchasers are preparing to away from the market to celebrate Christmas, but the prices are firm.
According to a trader in South China, demand for arsenic metal 99%min from overseas buyers is getting soft at the moment because most of their clients cease sending orders when a year winds to a halt. While the trader holds arsenic metal 99%min export prices stable at USD1,500-1,550/t FOB China now and he believes the market will turn better in next Q1.
The trader, who caters around 120 tons of arsenic metal 99%min to buyers throughout Asia, US and EU, also noted that arsenic metal 99%min domestic prices are hovering at a range of RMB8,900/t (USD1,460/t) at present, the same as those of last week. He exported 80-100 tons of the material in November.
A producer in South China also noted that arsenic metal 99%min export market suffered from soft demand in November and she failed to conclude transactions in the month. “Our foreign clients are going to be away from the market and to celebrate Christmas, therefore, arsenic metal 99%min export orders decreased in November,” noted the producer. While she raises the export offer to around USD1,600/t FOB China now as Huangpu port of Guangdong province has cancelled warehouses for dangerous goods, and she needs to pull containers to her factory firstly and then send them to port, which escalates her cost.
The producer is a major producer of arsenic metal 99%min and her production occupies around 30% of Chinese domestic production. She also expressed that she just sold around 20 tons of arsenic metal 99%min to domestic buyers in November. She lifts up arsenic metal 99%min domestic price to RMB9,600/t (USD1,574/t) now, up from RMB8,700/t (USD1,427/t) of mid November. But she hasn’t concluded transactions at this price level so far.
