Chinese steel plate prices moved down sharply in most leading markets during this month like Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin, driven by weak demand from downstream buyers. The average price for Q235B 20mm in Chinese key cities went down by RMB174/t month on month from RMB3,697/t (VAT included) to RMB3,523/t (VAT included), while the markup was RMB42/t in August
. With good expectations of demand release, insiders deem that the price is likely to stop falling in October.
