Chinese aluminum industry kept developing fast. Primary aluminum capacity expanded tremendously, while the market also sank into great oversupply quickly. Slowing-down of Chinese economy also made demand for aluminum slow down and aluminum ingot price drop continuously. The production cost differs a lot in different regions and smelters, because power cost differs. Many smelters suffer losses, while the ones with low power cost still earn profit and they keep expanding capacities. Thus the distribution of Chinese aluminum smelting capacities shifts tremendously.
