Aluminum prices both in China and abroad market kept going under production cost for quite a while. Aluminum smelters suffer losses. They cut production to avoid bigger losses. Chinese aluminum smelters suffered more losses, while they showed no intention to cut production, which made Chinese primary aluminum production kept growing, world production as well. Thus the Chinese proportion of the production rose further, which got closer to 50%. As the output keeps growing, primary aluminum market faces more serious oversupply both in China and overseas market.
