Chinese economy has been facing downward risks since early this year and demand for steel products keeps at a low level. However, the output of steel products runs at a high level. Owing to the oversupply, prices of most steel products, including steel plate, decreased a lot from late February to June. Though prices kept the upward trend in July, insiders deem that Chinese steel plate price is hard to go up further in August because of the soft downstream demand.
