South China entered the rainy season gradually in late May and early June and the operating rate for smelters increased obviously. Chinese silicon metal prices began to decrease since early June. In late June, some areas in Sichuan and Yunnan suffered from power rationing and the production was unstable. The overall market supply for silicon metal was not large and silicon metal prices turned stable. Chinese silicon metal export prices decreased continuously in June following the domestic price decrease. The export market saw some orders in June, but suppliers claimed that the prices were unfavorable.
