With the advantage of relatively low power cost, aluminum smelting in Gansu, China expanded quickly in 2012. Smelting capacities in Gansu is still expanding. However, low aluminum ingot price also makes some smelting plants in Gansu suffer losses at present, which makes smelter think twice before they expand capacity. Meanwhile, they also need to find ways to cut production cost in order to avoid losses.
