In April, Asian Metal held the 6th World Magnesium Forum in Kunming of Yunnan from April 12-14, 2017 sponsored by Shaanxi Tianyu Magnesium Group Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Wenxi Zhenxin Magnesium Co., Ltd., covering topics of magnesium metal, magnesium powder, magnesium alloy, magnesium alloy die-casting, extrusion and aluminum alloy. The forum is widely supported by market participants from the magnesium industry and nearly 200 representatives both at home and abroad attended forum.

On 8: 50 am, 13th of April, the forum officially started. Cao Guorui, the Executive President of Shaanxi Tianyu Magnesium Group Co., Ltd. made the opening speech for the forum. Afterwards, Zhu Zhiwei, the Foreign Trade Director of Yulin Tianlong Magnesium Co., Ltd. made the report of “Review and Analysis on Primary Magnesium Market”, analyzing transactions and price changes on the magnesium market in 2016 and predicting on the future market in 2017.

Subsequently, Cao Jianyong, the General Manager of Chongqing Shengmei Magnesium Co., Ltd. reported on the topic of “Latest Development of Magnesium Alloy Application”, stressing the prominently importance of magnesium alloy application amid the industrial trend of energy saving and emission reduction, higher independence of new energy vehicles on light and high strength metal, preferable option of magnesium alloy from luxury cars based on excellent properties like damping, etc., lower purchasing prices on mature deep processing for main engine plants and higher willingness to choose magnesium alloy by car plants based on requirement of environmental, easy-recycling factors, etc.

After tea break, Dr. Zhen Zisheng, the Technical Director of Asia Pacific from Magontec Xi'an Co., Ltd. made an report on “Promotion and Impact on Magnesium Industry from Qinghai Salt Lake Magnesium Project”, explaining the latest development and future trend of magnesium industry of the Salt Lake.

Then, Cheng Sen, the Deputy General Manager of Yingkou Yinhe Magnesium Alloy Co., Ltd., reported on the topic of “Industrial processing upgrading of Magnesium Alloy Plate and Strip Product”, introducing the latest development of magnesium alloy plate and strip products.

On the afternoon of the same day, Xu Yuewang, the Deputy General Manager of Shanxi Yinguang Huasheng Magnesium Co., Ltd., made an report of “Innovative Evolvement of Yinguang Group”.

Then, Ms. Chu Huirong, the Representative Assistant of Almamet Beijing Representative Office made an report of “Molten Iron Desulphurization and Application and Development of Magnesium in Molten iron Desulphurization”, answering some questions from steel plants in respect of the use of magnesium powder.

Finally, Asian Metal invited famous magnesium enterprises at home and abroad to participate in the panel discussion, which was hosted by Gao Bing, the Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Welbow Special Metals Co., Ltd. with participants of Zhang Guangning, the General Manager of Shanxi Credit Magnesium Co., Ltd., Li Zhenjiang, the General Manager of Hebi Jianglang Metals Co., Ltd., Wang Desheng, the General Manager of Hongkong Yuxin Development Co., Ltd., Zhu Zhiwei, the Foreign Trade Director of Yulin Tianlong Magnesium Co., Ltd. and Cao Jianyong, the General Manager of Chongqing Shengmei Magnesium Co., Ltd. The discussion focused on the hot topics about the current magnesium market, also providing detailed answers to questions from audience on the forum.
