In December 2012, cobalt price gradually touched the bottom. Due to low profit or no profit, suppliers were reluctant to reduce prices and cobalt price tended to be stable. In the first half of December, some traders and consumers thought cobalt price was going to rebound and they began to enter the market to buy, leading to more purchasing activities. In the second half of December 2012, with the upcoming of Christmas holiday and New Year holiday, market participants transferred focus to getting back money from sales at the end of 2012. While consumers tried to keep inventory level as low as possible and there were few activities in the market.
