In August, magnesia market kept running slowly with fewer orders from downstream consumers. Due to the continuously influence from sluggish steel market, refractory producers were not active to replenish their stockpiles. Meanwhile, domestic prices for magnesia remained stable this month. As the summer holiday in European countries haven’t finished, along with gloomy global steel market, demand for magnesia kept weak in export market, and Chinese magnesia exporters had no choice to decrease their offers to attract more consumers. In addition, magnesia export quotas in the second half year released in the middle of this month, and the total quantity reduced.
