Although prices of raw materials such as iron ore and billet went up slightly in June, the wire rod and rebar market in China remained sluggish and prices in most regions kept going down due to the lasting weak demand from buyers and steel producers’ lowering prices. As the flood season lasts from June to August, the operation of construction projects will keep slow for another two months. Therefore, observers predict that prices of wire rod and rebar will go down further in July.
