Selenium demand kept sliding in December when the downstream market remained slow. Both demand and prices of selenium powder and selenium dioxide decreased much in the month. Before the Christmas, some foreign suppliers also lowered their offers to attract deals. Meanwhile, many downstream manganese producers halted production. But as the holiday drew in and selenium dioxide supply became concentrated, it was difficult to purchase at low prices late the month. The price rebounded a bit though buyers still only purchased from hand to mouth.
