In October, the nickel market plunged and market activity slowed down. Owing to European debt crisis, the nickel price kept dropping after the National Holiday. In this situation, ferronickel and lateritic nickel ore experienced sharp depreciation. High grade lateritic market was dull as stainless steel mills were reluctant to purchase high grade ferronickel in large quantities and investors kept watching the market. The market is hard to improve by the end of 2011 and is likely to fluctuate at low level considering the worsening European debt crisis.
