Chinese tungsten market turned around in May. Prices of tungsten products rose fast in the beginning of the month, but it started falling in the second week. Many speculators bought tungsten concentrate in the beginning of the year, and they felt the current price already reached a satisfactory level so they started liquidating stocks. As raw material price fell in Chinese domestic market, APT and many other tungsten products prices slide accordingly; however, most people still hold optimistic view towards the future market.
Being limited by export quota and licenses, the tungsten export market did not follow suit immediately, but market participants hold wait-and-see attitude.
