The magnesium price kept firm in general with steady increase. With the rising of ferrosilicon price caused by higher electricity fee in Gansu and Qinghai, main ferrosilicon producing areas, the magnesium ingot price started to pick up. After the arrival of farm season in late June, workers left smelters for farm work, resulting in output reduction and tight spot supply in the magnesium ingot market. Therefore, the magnesium ingot price showed obvious rise.
