1.1 Bauxite
Chinese origin bauxite price moves up as producers cut production leading to tight supply. The demand remains dull. Imported bauxite price climbs supported by the increased freight and strengthened demand.
1.2 Alumina
Alumina price goes up in China since a major alumina producer suspended production and the supply reduced in north China. The supply in Indonesia grows slowly due to the bauxite supply shortage.
1.3 Aluminum fluoride
Aluminum fluoride price slumps in China for the increased supply and reduced fluorspar price. Export prices go down as well and the demand improves.
1.4 Aluminum Ingot
In early June, aluminum ingot prices began a downward trend, impacted by news that the Federal Reserve had shifted its forecast from one rate cut to one rate hike in the second half of the year. In mid-June, the U.S. and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding, removing the risk of further production cuts at aluminum smelters in the Middle East, and aluminum ingot prices continued to decline. In late June, market expectations that the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates three times in the second half of the year further extended the sharp retreat in aluminum ingot prices. Downstream deep-processing enterprises restocked at low prices, keeping aluminum ingot market transactions active. In June, aluminum ingot social inventories drew down by approximately 300,000 tonnes to around 1.16 million tonnes.
1.5 Aluminum Alloy
Although aluminum ingot prices fell sharply and persistently in June, recycled aluminum alloy ingot prices only saw a modest decline due to a shortage of scrap aluminum raw materials, with some producers halting or reducing production, keeping market supply relatively tight. Most recycled aluminum alloy ingot producers only guaranteed supply to regular customers, holding back sales and showing a strong willingness to support prices.
1.6 Scrap Aluminum
In June, the domestic scrap aluminum market continued to experience supply shortages. Although aluminum ingot prices fell sharply by approximately RMB1,500/mt in late June, scrap aluminum prices remained firm. Downstream consumers actively replenished scrap aluminum inventories, while suppliers held back sales and showed a strong willingness to raise prices.
1.7 Aluminum Billet
In early June, driven by sufficient export orders for extruded profiles, aluminum billet demand in the South China market was strong, while demand in the East China, Central China, and Southwest China regions remained relatively weak. From mid-to-late June, demand in regions outside South China also became strong, with some producers' aluminum billet orders booked up to half a month ahead.
