The Indian government has extended the anti-dumping duties on imports of aluminium foil (with a thickness of 80 microns or less) originating from China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, according to foreign media reports. The measure will now remain in effect until December 15, 2026.
The decision follows applications filed by domestic producers, including the Indian Aluminium Industry Corporation and SRF Altech, among others.
On September 29, 2025, India's Trade Remedy Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping measures applicable to aluminium foil imports from the aforementioned countries. As part of the ongoing review, the duty rates for Chinese imports range from USD 479 to USD 721 per metric ton, depending on the specific producer and exporter.
