The domestic steel plate market performance improved right after the May-Day holiday following the price rise, but turned to unsatisfactory from the middle of the month. The demand from infrastructure kept soft with the absence of construction projects, and that from machinery showed signs of shrinking dragged by the hot weather. End users strictly purchased from hand to mouth, for fear of a further price decline. However, steel mills produced actively boosted by the considerable profits.
In the meantime, the international steel plate market ran steadily.
