Canadian iron ore production rises 9.9 percent in March

According to Statistics Canada, Canada produced 5,077,787 metric tonnes of iron ore concentrates in March 2026, an increase of 9.9 percent compared to February 2026, but a decrease of 7.7 percent year-on-year from March 2025.
Canadian iron ore producers shipped 3,448,706 metric tonnes of iron ore concentrates in March, up 21.6 percent from the previous month and 2.2 percent higher than in March 2025.
Closing inventories of iron ore concentrates held by Canadian producers stood at 7,015,363 metric tonnes in March, down 4.5 percent from February and 38.4 percent lower compared to the same month a year earlier.
