Australia imposes provisional anti-dumping duties on light gauge steel studs and tracks from China

The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission has issued an affirmative preliminary determination, imposing provisional anti-dumping duties on light gauge steel studs and tracks imported from China. Effective May 26, 2026, importers must pay a 37.8% tariff rate for Wenan Kaize Building Material Co., Ltd., as well as for all other Chinese exporters.
Meanwhile, the countervailing duty investigation remains ongoing, with no provisional duties imposed due to insufficient evidence at this stage.
The investigation was requested by Australian firm Rondo Building Services Pty Ltd and officially launched on June 30, 2025. The case examines dumping and subsidy activities during the period from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, while assessing injury to the domestic industry from April 1, 2021, onward.
The affected products fall under the following HS codes: 7216.61.00.57, 7216.69.00.58, 7308.90.00.52, 7308.90.00.53, 7308.90.00.55, and 7308.90.00.56.
