Qingtongxia kicks off aluminum electrolytic cell upgrade project

The project to replace small electrolytic cells with large-capacity ones has been officially launched by Qingtongxia Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd., an affiliate of SPIC Aluminum & Power Investment Co., Ltd. A new 600kA electrolysis series will be built under the initiative.
Located in the Qingtongxia Branch in the Industrial Park of Qingtongxia, Wuzhong, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the project occupies part of the land for the original Phase I and Phase II facilities and makes use of the existing railway layout of Phase II. Covering a total area of 444,200 square meters, it is designed to produce 420,000 tons of primary aluminum annually.
