Mexico's iron ore and pellet output rises year-on-year in Q1

According to data from Mexico's National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the country produced approximately 528,000 tonnes of iron ore in March, an increase of 4.9% compared to the previous month and 2.2% year-on-year.
Total iron ore output for the first three months of the year reached nearly 1.52 million tonnes, up by 8,200 tonnes from the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, iron ore pellet production in March stood at roughly 384,000 tonnes, down 2% from February but up 9.3% compared to March 2025. Cumulative pellet output for the first quarter totaled about 1.16 million tonnes, representing an annual increase of approximately 9,500 tonnes.
