Building on its mature research and development expertise in 1100 and 1235 alloy battery foils, Jiuquan Iron & Steel Group Limited Company (JISCO) has rolled out 1100G high-performance aluminum foil billets for new energy power batteries.
Most commercial battery foils currently adopt 1100 and 1060 aluminum alloys, which have inherent performance drawbacks. For foil processed to a thickness below 0.1mm, cold working delivers diminishing strength reinforcement effects. Their tensile strength plateaus at 200MPa and cannot be further lifted, falling short of the performance requirements for upgraded high-end power batteries.
The new billet boasts markedly improved core performance metrics. Its minimum tensile strength hits 260MPa, representing a 20MPa increase versus existing products; its elongation rate rises 1 percentage point to over 4%. Double-sided pinhole defects are limited to 0.04 per square meter, approaching an almost pinhole-free high standard. The development marks a major performance upgrade for domestic battery aluminum foil billet products.
