The Ministry of Natural Resources released on May 13 the country's latest achievements in the exploration of strategic minerals. In the Luobusa mining area of Tibet, newly identified chromite resources reached 738,300 tonnes, marking a breakthrough in deep and peripheral exploration that provides vital support for meeting China's 14th Five-Year Plan mineral targets.
In the Dongqiao area of Xizang, the exploration team also identified a new type of chromite deposit, the fourth known to exist worldwide. The discovery adds an estimated 1,146,300 tonnes of associated chromite ore, expanding both the ideas and possibilities for chromite exploration in China.
