2.1 Brazil Initiates Anti-Dumping Investigation on Graphite Electrodes from China and India
Following a complaint filed by domestic producers, the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) of Brazil's Ministry of Economy launched an anti-dumping investigation on March 12 against graphite electrodes imported from China and India. The anti-dumping investigation period covers April 2024 to March 2025, while the injury assessment period spans April 2020 to March 2025.
The investigation took effect immediately from the date of announcement and aims to assess whether these imports have caused unfair injury to Brazil's domestic industry over the past five years. The products concerned fall under Mercosur Common Classification NCM code 8545.11.00.
