China Pingmei Shenma Group, through its subsidiaries Pingmei Shenma Taneng and Pingmei Lonji Photovoltaic Materials Cp., Ltd., has recently reached a cooperation framework with Tajik Aluminium Company (TALCO) to develop a fully integrated aluminum industry chain in Tajikistan.
The initiative marks a key step in the group's expansion into Central Asia under the Belt and Road framework. Leveraging complementary strengths in resources and industrial capabilities, the partners will advance integrated cooperation across three core areas: bauxite resource development, aluminum processing, and primary aluminum capacity upgrades, aiming to build a benchmark cross-border aluminum project.
The parties plan to construct an aluminum profile processing facility with an initial capacity of 50,000tpa, targeting Central and South Asian markets and enhancing local downstream processing capabilities. In parallel, TALCO's electrolytic aluminum capacity utilization will be improved through a combination of new production lines and upgrades to existing facilities.
Upstream, the partners will jointly develop the Tupi deposit in Tajikistan, which features abundant aluminum resources and high alumina (Al2O3) content, offering strong development potential and reinforcing raw material supply for the integrated value chain.
