Tianqi Lithium boosts lithium chemicals output as capacity expands

Tianqi Lithium Corporation delivered solid growth across its operations in 2025, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the global lithium supply chain.
The company's controlled Greenbushes mine in Australia produced 1.35 million tonnes of lithium concentrate during the year, with sales reaching 810,000 tonnes, up 9.8% year-on-year. The mine ranked as the world's largest hard-rock lithium operation in 2025, accounting for 18.9% of global output. As of the end of 2025, Greenbushes held total resources of 457 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.6% Li2O, amounting to approximately 18 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE).
In January 2026, Phase III of the Greenbushes expansion project delivered its first batch of chemical-grade lithium concentrate, lifting total capacity to 2.14 million tonnes per year and further strengthening Tianqi's leadership in lithium concentrate supply.
The company's downstream lithium chemicals segment also posted strong growth, with 2025 output rising 24.4% YoY to 88,000 tonnes. Its current global lithium chemical capacity stands at 121,600 tonnes per annum and is set to increase to 122,600tpa following the commissioning of its lithium metal expansion project in Tongliang, Chongqing.
