The 120,000tpa green aluminum project at the Angola Aluminum Industrial Park, designed by Chinalco's Guiyang Aluminium Magnesium Design & Research Institute, has officially come on stream, marking the first primary aluminium project built by a Chinese enterprise in Africa.
The project leverages Angola's abundant hydropower resources and adopts a model of reusing existing equipment for overseas construction. By combining high-quality surplus equipment from China with Guiyang Institute's proprietary technologies, construction costs have been reduced by more than 30%, setting a replicable model for overseas aluminium projects.
