On January 6, 2026, the first furnace of nickel matte rolled off Line 6 of CNGR's Zhongtsing New Energy Phase II Project in Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), marking the full commissioning of Zhongtsing New Energy Project with a total production capacity of 60,000 tonnes of contained nickel.
Since early 2025, Lines 3, 4, and 5 of Phase II have gradually come online, and the low- to high-grade nickel matte conversion line began operating in August 2025. With Line 6 now fully operational, Phase II now produces 40,000 tonnes of contained nickel per year, bringing the combined annual capacity with Phase I to 60,000 tonnes.
The project establishes an integrated production chain, processing laterite nickel ore into low-grade nickel matte and then upgrading it to high-grade nickel matte. Along with the 80,000tpa North Morowali Industrial Base and the 55,000tpa Weda Bay Industrial Base, CNGR now has nearly 200,000 tonnes of total nickel capacity in Indonesia, covering ferronickel, low- and high-grade nickel matte, and nickel cathode, supporting a diversified nickel product portfolio.
