1.Market Highlights
Magnesite: Based on stable demand and supply, prices remain stable.
Fused magnesia: Based on firm production cost, producers hold prices of FM Ca/Si=1min and large crystal stable. Due to increased demand, producers raise prices of H-Ca FM slightly.
Dead burned magnesia: Owing to reduced demand, producers lower the prices of 90%min. Driven by increased production cost, producers raise the prices of 95%min and 97%min.
Caustic calcined magnesia: Driven by the expectation of supply reduction, producers raise their prices.
Magnesium aluminate spinel: Based on stable production cost, producers keep spinel prices steady.
2 Economy and Policy
2.1 China's crude steel output down 3.9% in first ten months
In October 2025, China produced 65.55 million tonnes of pig iron, down by 7.9% YoY, 72 million tonnes of crude steel, down by 12.1% YoY, and 118.64 million tonnes of finished steel products, down slightly by 0.9% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to October, China's production of pig iron declined by 1.8% YoY to 711.37 million tonnes, crude steel production decreased by 3.9% YoY to 817.87 million tonnes, while finished steel products production increased by 4.7% YoY to around 1.22 billion tonnes.
