Dongshan Aluminum updates 240ktpa capacity replacement plan

The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia has released an updated capacity replacement plan for a 240,000tpa primary aluminum project, following an intra-group capacity transfer agreement signed on December 4 between Henan Hengkang Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Inner Mongolia Dongshan Aluminum Co., Ltd.
Under the revised plan, Dongshan Aluminum will start building 150 large 600KA prebaked anode cells in December 2025. The project is designed for 240,000tpa of capacity and is scheduled to start production in August 2026.
