Tianshan Aluminum has powered up the first batch of electrolysis cells of its green and low-carbon aluminum production line upgrade project. Once fully completed, the project will raise the company's primary aluminum production capacity to 1.4 million tonnes per year, with industry-leading AC energy efficiency for molten aluminum.
Located on the east side of the Shihezi plant, the project uses fully graphitized cathode blocks and a new energy-saving cathode structure design, offering longer lining life, lower resistivity, high operational stability, and improved current efficiency.
Future phases will rely on green electricity, further boosting renewable energy use, cutting power costs, and advancing the company's green transformation in aluminum production.
