Qingtongxia Aluminium plans capacity upgrade via replacement

Qingtongxia Aluminum Branch of Qingtongxia Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd. plans to upgrade primary aluminum production capacity by building 268 new 600kA electrolytic cells, with a total capacity of 420,000tpa, at its existing plant through capacity replacement, according to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Under the capacity swap plan, the new project is scheduled to begin construction in March 2026, with commissioning planned for April 2028. Once the new facilities come online, the company will retire 280 cells (200kA) and 288 cells (350kA), amounting to capacity of 420,000tpa.
