Sunstone, Sinopec team up for strategic cooperation on carbon materials

On October 11, Sunstone Development Co., Ltd. signed a strategic agreement with Sinopec (Dalian) Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals Co., Ltd., Sinopec Refinery Product Sales Co., Ltd., and Sinopec Qilu Petrochemical Company to launch innovation cooperation in carbon materials for prebaked anodes.
Drawing on years of raw material cooperation, the two sides will form an innovation alliance around the full chain, covering raw materials, specialized petroleum coke, and prebaked anode, to partner long-term in development, evaluation, and application of materials and products. By pooling resources and technology, the partnership aims to shift the industry from resource-driven to technology-driven growth, improving utilization efficiency and value of petroleum coke.
This cooperation will help Sunstone develop high-performance prebaked anodes and expand into high-end markets like aerospace aluminum and high-purity aluminum, supporting China's prebaked anode and aluminum industries in achieving high-quality growth.
