Huateng New Materials to build 5ktpa rare earth metals and alloys project

Baotou Huateng New Materials Co., Ltd. has received approval from the Inner Mongolia Department of Industry and Information Technology to build a new project with an annual production capacity of 5,000t of heavy rare earth metals and alloys.
The company plans to rent a production workshop in Baotou Rare-earth Hi-tech Zone to build production lines, environmental protection equipment and other associated facilities. The project's 5,000tpa production capacity includes 1,700t of ferrogadolinium, 400t of ferrodysprosium, 300t of ferroyttrium, 300t of ferroholmium, 1,890t of cerium-praseodymium-neodymium metals, 360t of samarium metal, and 50t of ytterbium metal. With a total planned investment of RMB100 million (USD14.05 million), the project is expected to be completed in 12 months after construction begins.
