Anhui Yunhai Aluminum breaks new ground in high-strength profiles

Anhui Yunhai Aluminum Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Baowu Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd., has made a breakthrough in aluminum alloy extrusion profiles for automotive door sills, achieving both tensile strength above 310 MPa and contour accuracy within 0.8. This fills a key technical gap in producing complex, high-strength profiles and boosts China's capabilities in lightweight components for new energy vehicles.
The project, launched in February 2025, reached stable mass production in just six months. By adding rare earth elements and optimizing processes and die durability, product yield rose 10% compared with competitors. Based on an annual output of 100,000 sets, the new technology cuts scrap by about 400 tonnes a year while lowering material, tooling, and reshaping costs. The new profiles have already earned customer approval, and Anhui Aluminum plans to keep advancing lightweight alloys and precision extrusion to drive industry upgrades.
