The prices of molybdenum concentrate rose in early July as producers held back from selling, and remained firm during the mid of the month, but then increased further due to a suspension, caused by an accident, of a major producer in Inner Mongolia.
Following prices of molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum prices increased in early July. In mid July, since steel mills decreased purchase prices, ferromolybdenum prices dropped slightly and kept for a week. In late July, owing to the increase of molybdenum concentrate prices, ferromolybdenum prices rose accordingly.
Following the trend of molybdenum concentrate prices, downstream molybdenum chemical products and molybdenum metal prices rose since early July, remained stable in mid July and increased in late July.
In international molybdenum market, due to bullish sentiments, market prices of molybdenum products rose in early July, remained stable in mid July, and increased in late July.
