China's aluminum alloy production up 16.7% YoY in May

In May 2025, China produced about 7.49 million tonnes of alumina, up by 5.0% YoY, 3.83 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up by 5.0% YoY, 1.65 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 16.7% YoY, and 5.76 million tonnes of aluminum products, up slightly by 0.4% YoY, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to May, China's alumina output totaled 37.4 million tonnes, up by 9.5% YoY, primary aluminum production reached 18.59 million tonnes, up by 4.0% YoY, aluminum alloy output increased by 15.2% YoY to 7.41 million tonnes, and aluminum products output edged up by 0.6% YoY to 26.83 million tonnes.
