Dazhong Mining to launch lithium metal battery materials project

Dazhong Mining Co., Ltd. announced that it has received board approval to sign an investment agreement with the Administrative Committee of Linwu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to launch a 3,000-ton-per-annum lithium metal battery materials project in Linwu County.
The project will involve a total investment of RMB1 billion (USD139 million) and proceed in three phases. Phase I will focus on R&D, including laboratory-scale and pilot-scale trials, and is scheduled for completion in 2025. Phase II will involve the construction of a 1,000tpa annual production line, with construction set to begin in April 2026 and operations to start by the end of 2027. Phase III will add a 2,000tpa annual production line, which is expected to break ground in June 2027 and begin commissioning by 2028.
Dazhong Mining currently holds 3.24 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) resources in Linwu County and has established an integrated lithium supply chain covering mining, beneficiation, and lithium carbonate processing. This new investment reflects the company's forward-looking strategy to align with market trends, strengthen its competitive edge, and enhance overall profitability.
