China launches fourth batch of third round of environmental inspections

On May 26, China's central authorities launched the fourth batch of the third round of environmental inspections, the first since the new regulations on ecological and environmental protection came into effect, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
Eight teams will be stationed for about one month to conduct inspections in five provincial-level regions including Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shandong, Shaanxi, and Ningxia. The inspections will cover both regional environmental issues and those related to the Yellow River Basin . In addition, inspections will also be carried out on three centrally administered state-owned enterprises, namely China Huaneng Group Co . , Ltd . , China Datang Corporation Ltd . , and State Power Investment Corporation Limited.
