Xinye New Material receives approval to build rare earth metals and alloys project

Baotou Xinye New Material Co., Ltd. has received the initial approval from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to build a 15,000tpa rare earth metals and alloys project, for a total planned investment of RMB76.65 million (USD10.53 million).
The project has an annual production capacity of 4,000t of PrNd mischmetal, 3,000t of LaCe mischmetal, 4,000t of lanthanum metal, 3,000t of cerium metal, and 1,000t of samarium metal. Construction of the project, including a rare earth molten salt electrolytic production line, samarium metal production line and other associated facilities, is expected to take 24 months to complete.
