Omat Shaoguan to invest in high purity copper and cobalt ingot project

Omat High Purity Materials Technology (Shaoguan) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Omat Advanced Materials (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., plans to sign an investment agreement with the management committee of Shaoguan High-tech Industrial Development Zone to build Omat Mingyue Lake Semiconductor High Purity Material Project, with a total planned investment of about RMB108 million (USD14.78 million).
The project, with a planned land area of 46.73Mu (3.12 hectares), would take 36 months to complete construction and go into operation. It mainly includes production bases for high-purity oxygen-free copper ingot and high-purity cobalt ingot, the raw materials for semiconductor sputtering targets.
The project is expected to help the company ensure continuous and stable supply of core raw materials. Additionally, while meeting internal demand, the company will actively explore both domestic and international markets for high-purity oxygen-free copper ingot and high-purity cobalt ingot, creating new avenues for profit growth.
