Prices of rebar in major regions of China witnessed an upward trend during the month. Besides, prices of wire rod in East China moved up slightly during the month, while those in North China and South China dropped on weak demand. Chinese export prices of wire rod and rebar went down further during the month due to the depreciation of RMB and soft demand from overseas customers.
In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in Malaysia, Thailand, India and Vietnam slipped during the month on low demand.
