Donglian Mining awarded new permit for lithium-containing clay mineral

Yifeng County Donglian Mining Product Development Co., Ltd. has been granted an upgraded permit for Tong'an porcelain clay mine, a lithium-containing mineral deposit, by Yichun Municipal Bureau of Natural resources.
The upgraded licence allows the company to mine 400,000tpa of ore, compared with the initial 50,000tpa, which amounts to production of at least 10,000t of lithium carbonate annually. With the new permit in hand, the company expects to boost self-sufficiency of raw material for lithium production.
However, mining production was limited at Tong'an mine due to rectification in 2024, and it takes time to expand production capacity from 50,000tpa to 400,000tpa, the company said in a statement.
