Sinomine's Tsumeb smelter to build Ge-Ga-Zn metals recycling project

On December 27, Sinomine's board of directors approved an investment for a 200,000tpa multi-metal recycling project, which will be implemented by Sinomine Tsumeb Smelter (Propritary) Limited, the company's majority-owned subsidiary in Namibia.
The project will process metal slag containing germanium, gallium and zinc from Tsumeb smelter, with a designed processing capacity of 200,000 dry tons per annum, to recycle 33t of germanium ingot, 11t of industrial grade gallium and 10,900t of zinc ingot annually.
The total investment for the project is estimated at USD223 million, including USD205 million for construction, which will come from the subsidiary's own capital and self-raised fund.
Tsumeb smelter has measured and indicated resources of around 2.94 million tonnes at 253.51g/t Ge, 139.16g/t Ga and 7.1% Zn, containing 746.21t of germanium, 409.62t of gallium and 209,458.72t of zinc.
