Jiangxi Yunqi to build 7ktpa ternary precursor project

Jiangxi Yunqi New Materials Co., Ltd. has received initial EIA approval from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangxi Province to build a recycling project, which uses waste lithium battery powder materials and nickel-cobalt alloy powder as the raw materials to recycle metal materials, including nickel, cobalt, lithium, manganese, copper, tungsten and molybdenum, through hydrometallurgical process.
According to the EIA, the project has a planned annual production capacity of 7,200t of NCM precursor, 3,500t of nickel sulfate, 1,050t of cobalt sulfate, 500t of electrodeposited nickel, 590t of electrodeposited copper, 2,700t of lithium carbonate, 340t of sodium tungstate, and 433t of sodium molybdate. The project will also be able to produce 24,450tpa of anhydrous sodium sulfate and 555tpa of sodium chloride as the by-products.
