Huangshi Xingang breaks ground on 2.25Mtpa steel plates project

On September 20, Huangshi Xingang Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd. kicked off construction of its fine quality steel plates project in Huangshi Xingang Logistics Park with a total investment of nearly RMB10 billion (USD1.42 billion).
The project, with a planned land area of around 2,000Mu (133 hectares), uses short-flow electric furnace steelmaking process and has an annual production capacity of 2.25 million tonnes of fine quality steel plates, mostly cold-rolled and coated plates, which are widely used for new energy projects, marine engineering, bridge engineering, automobile, home appliance and other fields. When fully operational, the project would achieve annual sales revenue of RMB11 billion (USD1.56 billion) and industrial added value of over RMB1.8 billion (USD255 million), and it is expected to create more than 1,500 new jobs.
