China's copper cathode output up 6.2% in Jan-Aug

China's refined copper (copper cathode) production was 1.12 million tonnes in August 2024, up slightly by 0.9% year on year, and that of copper products decreased by 0.2% year on year to 1.93 million tonnes, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to August, China produced about 8.91 million tonnes of copper cathode, up by 6.2% over the prior year period, and 14.38 million tonnes of copper products, down by 1.7% versus a year ago.
