    1 Market Highlights
    1.1 Prebaked anode

    Prebaked anode prices in China went down in August due to the slipped cost of coal tar pitch and flat demand.

    Export prices dipped as well after coal tar pitch prices went down.

    1.2 Pet coke

    Pet coke prices moved up in early August and went down quickly after early the month. The imported supply increased.

    1.3 Graphite electrode

    In August, graphite electrode prices in Chinese market moved down as the steel market remained sluggish, leading to weak demand.

    Export prices dropped as well and the demand from Europe and Brazil kept sluggish with end users holding sufficient inventories.

    1.4 CPC

    The CPC supply remained sufficient and prices went down in the second half of August.

    1.5 Coal tar pitch

    Average coal tar pitch prices went down in August for the increased supply.
