Fire breaks out at Xintai Material's LiPF6 plant

A fire broke out at a lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) plant of Jiangsu Xintai Material Technology Co., Ltd. due to short circuit on the morning of August 24 and no injuries were reported, with an investigation underway.
Xintai Material, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tonze New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., said its production capacity of lithium hexafluorophosphate was affected to some extent as some equipment was shutdown temporarily, but other production lines remain in normal operation.
Tonze said in a statement that the accident had no obvious effect on its operation as the 10,000tpa LiPF6 production line operated by its holding subsidiary Jiangsu Taiji Material Technology Co., Ltd. keeps normal operation now, and the 15,000tpa LiPF6 production line newly built by its another holding subsidiary Jiangsu Tairui Lianteng Material Technology Co., Ltd. started trail production this month with capacity coming on stream as planned.
